Current Research within Imaging Science and Biomedical Engineering

Our research strategy is based on identifying generic problems in machine vision and developing generic solutions to these problems. In particular, we have pursued the idea that there are no fundamental differences between the medical and industrial application domains. This has often led to significant cross-fertilisation between projects with superficially disparate objectives.

Funding comes mainly from Research Councils (principally EPSRC) and some medical charities.
